PARKWOOD COMMONS December, 2025

NEWS YOU CAN USE -

The calendar says that the Holiday Season is upon us but the reccent temps are certainly not what is expected for outdoor Holiday events! In spite of the unseasonable warm, fall weather we are quickly rolling out the Christmas decorations and festivities. Saturday, 11/29/2025, Santa will be at the Parkwood Pool parking lot from 10am to Noon to greet kids of all ages! This event is open to the public and will include writing letters to Santa and putting in his personal mailbox and enjoying hot cocoa with the man of the hour! Also, decorations will soon be going up at the Parkwood main entrance to help celebrate the season. Our HOA President, David Wu and other Santa helpers will be adding the festive decorations so please send thanks to these who donated their efforts and time!

Parkwood Playground anyone??? We have formed a sub-committee to investigate the possibility of Parkwood adding a playground for our youngest residents. The committee is looking into the legalities, the codes to be followed and last but not least, the cost. If you have suggestions, thoughts or wish to finance the project , please contact Katie Ricardo (vicepresident@parkwoodcommons.org)!

2025 Event Reports – Our Fall Camping Night was a fun event. Four families stayed and spent the night but others came to participate earlier in the evening. This event will be advertised earlier in the fall so to have better participation. Great job Preston Smith for putting this event together! The Halloween decorating contest was entertaining & well-received by the neighborhood. Winning entries were chosen and named in our November newsletter. Board member, Deborah Balfour hand delivered Gift Cards to the winners.

It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of Parkwood resident and business owner, John Dillon (owner of Dillon Plumbing Services) who left this earth on November 15th at age 67. He spent his final hours surrounded by the love and presence of his family and closest friends. John was a long-time Board member who donated his services and time to this Community many, many times over the years. Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with his family.

Volunteers needed! We live in a terrific community filled with terrific people but we need your help to keep Parkwood moving forward in greatness. Won’t you please consider volunteering to serve in some capacity? Contact our HOA President, David Wu, and he will help to match your gifts & desires with our current community needs.

Advertising anyone?!? Would you like your business to be advertised in our monthly Parkwood newsletter? We have some terrific businesses represented in our community and would like to advertise and increase exposure for you. We believe this would be mutually beneficial as we intend to email monthly Newsletters to all Parkwood residents (for an overall exposure of approx. 365+ families). All that is required is your Business Card showing your company name, contact info along with any specialties you offer. *Email president@parkwoodcommons.org for cost and details.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS! TAKE TIME TO BE THANKFUL, BE JOYOUS AND MAY YOUR 2026 YEAR BE FILLED WITH BLESSINGS.
